Appointed-Ambassador Faily Meets with Congressman Ted Yoho

Ambassador Lukman Faily meets with House Foreign Affairs Committee member Congressman Ted Yoho to discuss cooperation between Iraq and the United States.

On July 12, 2013, Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL) welcomed Ambassador Lukman Faily to Capitol Hill for a wide-ranging discussion on areas where the Republic of Iraq and the United States can strengthen its shared interests and drive more cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Faily expressed his gratitude to the United States and provided an overview of the present economic and political situation in Iraq. Similar to other meetings with US lawmakers, they also discussed the conflict in Syria and its implications on Iraq and the region.

Finally, Ambassador Faily and Rep. Yoho re-affirmed the strong friendship between Iraq and the United States and discussed efforts to strengthen the political, security, and economic partnership between the two countries.
