NDU Hosts Roundtable Discussion with Ambassador Faily
The Institute for National Strategic Studies and the National Defense University welcomed Ambassador Faily for a roundtable, where he stressed Iraq’s sovereignty in all matters – diplomatic and political.
The Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS) hosted a roundtable discussion with Ambassador Faily at the National Defense University in Washington, DC.
At the event on July 25, 2013 Ambassador Faily spoke about the current situation in Iraq, describing the escalation of security efforts as part of the Iraqi government fight against terrorism.
Ambassador Faily also spoke about the conflict in Syria and its impact on events in Iraq and the region, adding that supplying weapons to the warring parties will fuel extremism in the region. He stressed Iraq’s sovereignty in all matters, diplomatic and political.
Among the panelists were distinguished Research Fellows from the INSS and Research Assistants at the Institute, as well as the President of National Defense University and others who are interested in the Middle East region.
