STATEMENT BY AMBASSADOR FAILY ON IRAQI ARMED FORCES DAY

on July 6, 2013, Iraqi Ambassador to the United States Lukman Faily issued a statement in recognition of Iraqi Armed Forces Day:

“We pause today to recognize the courage and sacrifices of the members of Iraq’s Armed Forces. These brave men and women are engaged in a decades-long fight against terrorism. They continue to fight against al-Qaeda, serving alongside their brothers in Anbar Province today. As we commemorate our Armed Forces, we remember all those who have been killed or wounded while fighting al-Qaeda. We express our gratitude and our grief to the families of the fallen. And we commit to uphold their honor by defeating al-Qaeda and all other terrorist groups operating in Iraq.”
