Iraqi Delegation Attends IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, DC
The delegation joined government officials, journalists, civil society organizations, academia and private sector representatives to discuss the global economy and the world’s financial markets.
Ambassador Faily welcomed Excellencies Mr. Safa al-Din Al-Safi, acting minister of finance; and Mr. Abdul Basit Turki, Governor of Iraqi Central Bank; and accompanying delegation to Washington, DC this week for an official visit to attend the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group annual Spring Meetings.
Ambassador Faily accompanied the delegation in meetings with the U.S. officials at Departments of State and Treasury.
The delegation joined thousands of government officials, journalists, civil society organizations, academia and private sector representatives to discuss progress of the IMF and World Bank and to foster creative dialogue among the private sector, government delegates and senior IMF and Bank officials. The Spring Meetings also include seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many events which focus on the global economy, international development, and the world’s financial markets.
