Requirements for Cancelling General and Special Powers of Attorney
This service refers to the principal’s right to revoke a Power of Attorney (POA) and dismiss the agent (proxy) at any time.
The cancellation of Powers of Attorney is processed according to the following guidelines:
Personal Appearance
The principal (the person who granted the POA) must appear in person before the Consul to verify their identity when cancelling the POA.
Required Iraqi Documents
- Iraqi Civil Status ID (Hawiyat al-Ahwal al-Madaniya) or a photocopy if the original is unavailable.
- Iraqi Nationality Certificate (Shahadat al-Jinsiya) or a photocopy if the original is unavailable.
- Unified National Card (al-Bitaqa al-Wataniya) or a valid Iraqi Passport.
POA Information
- A copy of the Power of Attorney intended to be cancelled.
- The complete address and phone number of the agent (proxy) in Iraq who is being dismissed.
Photographs
(3) Three recent color passport-sized photographs of the principal with a white background.
Consular Fees
$1.00 USD, payable in cash.
