Important Announcement: Launch of the “Wathiqati” System

The Consular Department of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces the pilot launch of the “Wathiqati” (My Document) Electronic System. This allows citizens to track the status of their transactions electronically and free of charge for the years 2021/2022 onwards.

Warning: According to directives from the Iraqi Ministry of Justice, Power of Attorney (General and Special) transactions cannot be processed by mail. The personal presence of the principal is mandatory at the Consulate to prevent forgery.

Required Iraqi Documents

  • Personal Identification: Original National Card (Al-Bitaqa Al-Wataniya) + 2 colored copies. (Or: Original Civil Status ID + Iraqi Nationality Certificate + 2 colored copies of each).
  • Principal’s Photos: (5) recent color photos with a white background.
  • Agent’s Photos: (5) recent color photos with a white background.
  • Property/Vehicle Assets:
    • Copy of Legal Inheritance Document (Al-Qassam Al-Shari) and recent Title Deed (Sanad) for real estate sales.
    • Copy of Vehicle Registration (Sannawiya) for vehicle-related POAs.
