IHEC Discusses its Preparations with Ambassador Faily Ahead of Elections

Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) office located in Washington D.C, discussed with Ambassador Faily their preparations to ensure voting success for Iraqis living in the U.S. ahead of the Iraqi parliamentary elections.

On March 27, 2014, the Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) office located in Washington D.C, discussed with Ambassador Faily their preparations to ensure voting success for Iraqis living in the U.S. ahead of the Iraqi parliamentary elections.

The technical, logistical and financial requirements that are necessary for elections to be held on time were discussed and Ambassador Faily expressed his readiness to work with the IHEC to overcome voting obstacles that may arise. Ambassador Faily also called for the Iraqi community in the United States to participate significantly in the elections.

The Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission opened 14 offices and 5 electoral stations in other countries in order to conduct the Iraqi parliamentary elections outside of Iraq, on April 27-28, 2014.
