Foreign Minister Zebari Condemns Brutal Killings of American Journalists

Minister Zebari said the ‘act of savagery’ shows the urgency needed to defeat ISIL

September 3, 2014 — Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari condemned the beheading of two American journalists as “an act of savagery and evil” that shows the urgency of defeating them.

James Foley and Steven Sotloff were killed by jihadists from the terrorist group known as ISIL.

“We have condemned very strongly and abhorred the killing… of two American journalists,” Minister Zebari said. “This is what we in Iraq are facing daily. The atrocities, the violations these people have committed against our people, against the minorities, are unspeakable,” he said. “This shows the urgency of defeating these evil people.”
