On June 1, 2014, Ambassador Faily penned an opinion piece in Al Sabaah newspaper to discuss the current relationship between Iraq and the United States.
“The Strategic Framework Agreement (SFA) signed between Iraq and the United States in 2008 is considered an important milestone in the history of relations between the two countries,” said Ambassador Faily.
Ambassador Faily asserted the need for building a strong alliance with the United States amid a state of instability in the region.
