Statement on Oklahoma Tornado
The Government and people of Iraq were saddened by the devastation and deaths caused by the powerful tornado that swept through the outskirts of Oklahoma City on Monday. The Embassy has offered its condolences to Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin and the people of the state, which over the years has sent many servicemen and servicewomen to Iraq to help fight for our freedom and strengthen our democracy. As Oklahomans begin the process of rebuilding, the victims of this tragedy are in our thoughts and prayers. We wish them and the entire state a swift recovery.
