Iraq participated in the Roundtable convened by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on investment in education and support for women on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Dr. Ibrahim al-Jaafari stressed that: “The real indicator of the democracy of each country is the amount of women that enter the parliament and reach the government, questioning : Why women are half the society, and not half the institution?!, Explaining: This is the truth and pointing out that this human civilization concept makes women in front of a new world a world that makes what you think regardless of age, and all considerations.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Sexual Violence in Armed Conflict, Ms. Pramila Patten, on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting reviewed the overall situation in Iraq and the efforts made by international organizations to support Iraq in various fields.
