President of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Barham Salih received at his residence in Rome the Russian Foreign Minister Mr. Sergei Lavrov in the presence of Foreign Minister Mohamed A. Alhakim.

The President of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Barham Salih and Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim visited the Vatican and met with Pope Francis.

An official ceremony was held to receive the President and the accompanying delegation and the Iraqi flag was raised on the Vatican to welcome the President.

In the finest words and congratulate, I dedicated my congratulations and blessing wishing to the dear Iraqi people and the Muslim World as we commemorate the Holy Prophet’s birth, The birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah peace be upon him and his family, asking the Almighty to grant our people, the Iraqi nation and the entire Islamic nation good, prosperity, blessings, the continuity of security, stability, and well-being.

I also sincerely pray for this happy occasion to be a moral incentive to follow the path of prophecy and its eternal teachings, that wonderful event is always inspiring to remember our honorable history, which transferred humanity from the ages of darkness to the era of light, love, openness of mind, knowledge, learning and development.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamed A. Alhakim met in Amman with Jordanian Foreign Minister Mr. Ayman Al- Safadi during a quick visit of Excellency President Barham Salih accompanied by the Foreign Minister and several officials. This meeting comes as a follow-up to Minister Ayman Al-Safadi’s visit to Baghdad, which took place a few days ago.

During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues that concern the two brotherly countries, including energy, security and the Iraqi community affairs in Jordan, and it was agreed to form a joint working team between the two ministries to overcome obstacles and to complete all files concerning bilateral relations between the two sides.

Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met in Tehran with Iranian Foreign Minister Mr. Mohammad Javad Zarif on the sidelines of the visit of Excellency President Barham Salih to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Minister Zarif congratulated Minister Alhakim on the occasion of assuming the post of Foreign Minister in the new Iraqi government, wishing him success in his mission.

During the meeting the efforts and sacrifices made by Iraq in combating terrorism and eliminating terrorist groups were praised.
