President Barham Salih on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, mourned the Iraqi Archeologist Dr. Lamia al-Gilani, who passed away at the age of 80, in Amman.
His Excellency lauded the prestigious status of the deceased and her distinguished efforts in the field of archeology.
The following is the full text:
“We have received with deep pain and grief the news about the death of archaeologist Dr. Lamia al-Gilani, one of the first Iraqi women, who excavated the rich archaeological heritage of the country, and she was an expert in Sumerian seals.
