H.E. President Dr. Barham Salih stressed that the relations between Iraq and Kuwait have made significant strides due to the wisdom and the desire of the leaderships of the two countries to overcome the legacy of the past.
At the official discussion that was held, at the Presidential Office in Baghdad on Wednesday’s today June 19 2019, with His Highness the Kuwait’s Amir the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Excellency President Salih indicated that Iraq has a serious desire to build advanced ties with its neighbors, especially with Kuwait in manner that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.

His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi received this day Russian President’s Special Envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentiev and his accompanying delegation which includes Deputy Foreign Minister, a number of officials in the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs and the Russian charge d’affaires in Baghdad, they discussed the relations between the two countries in the economic fields and strengthen the capabilities of Iraqi forces, developments in Syria and stability, The ongoing preparations for Astana Conference, In addition, they discussed the regional situation and the current crisis between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
