Minister Alhakim stressed the need to expedite the process of appointing the Ambassador of Iraq to the Republic of Cyprus, and called for the convening of the quartet meeting of foreign ministers: Iraq, Jordan, Greece and Cyprus; in line with what was agreed at the tripartite summit held in Amman on 14/4/2019, Minister Alhakim pointed to the importance of the World Conference on Reconstruction and Development in Iraq scheduled to be held in Nicosia from 6-12 12/2019.

We came to the Kingdom to commend for the Saudi National Day, we met the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince to follow up the relations between the two countries which is developing, to discuss the regional situation and seek to calm the situation, to prevent the dangers of any conflict or war and avoid the ramifications, The meetings were intense, deep, frank and straightforward, we put some perceptions on how to find solutions to help the two countries to advance their relations, especially in the areas of oil and commerce, As well as to calm the situation in the region and prevent the evils of war in it.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim met with Mr. Jan Kubis the former Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) in Iraq.
Minister Alhakim stressed the importance of the United Nations active role in supporting and assisting Iraq in various political, security and humanitarian field, stating that the United Nations is the umbrella responsible for the protection and support of the people of the world.

Foreign Minister Mohamad A. Alhakim gave Iraq’s speech at the Article 11 Conference on Facilitating the Entry into Force of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
At the outset of the speech, the Minister expressed Iraq’s desire to participate actively in enhancing the role of international conventions and instruments in the field of disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation, and to help develop them in a way that contributes to the maintenance of international peace and security.

ألقى وزير الخارجيّة محمد علي الحكيم كلمة العراق في المُؤتمر 11 للمادّة 14 المعنيّ بتسهيل دُخُول معاهدة الحظر الشامل للتجارب النوويّة حيّز النفاذ.
وأعرب الوزير في مُستهلِّ كلمته عن رغبة العراق في المُشارَكة الفعّالة في تعزيز دور الاتفاقـيّات والصكوك الدوليّة في مجال نزع السلاح وعدم الانتشار النوويّ، والمُساعَدة في تطويرها بما يُساهِم في حفظ السلم والأمن الدوليّين.
ودعا إلى أهمِّية دُخُول مُعاهدة الحظر حيِّز التنفيذ، مُوضِحاً: تُجدّد حكومة بلادي تأكيدها على الحاجة المُلِحّة لدُخُول مُعاهدة الحظر الشامل للتجارب النوويّة حيِّز النفاذ في أسرع وقت مُمكِن بوصفها صكاً قانونيّاً دوليّاً مُلزِماً.
مُعرِباً عن ترحيبه بازدياد عدد الدول المُصادِقة على المُعاهَدة، كاشفاً سعي العراق إلى تعزيز بناء القدرات الوطنيّة بما يخدم تنفيذ التزاماته وفق أحكام المُعاهَدة.
مُبدِياً قلقه من امتناع الكيان الإسرائيليّ عن المُصادَقة بصفته أحد الأطراف الثمانية المتبقية في المُلحَق الثاني من المُعاهَدة، مُعلّلاً بالقول: لأنّ انضمامه سيكون خطوة لدعم الترتيبات الرامية إلى إنشاء منطقة خالية من الأسلحة النوويّة، ومن أسلحة الدمار الشامل الأخرى في الشرق الأوسط.
مُجدِّداً تأكيد العراق على أهمّية الالتزام الطوعيّ بالوقف الاختياريّ لتجارب التفجيرات النوويّة، مُضِيفاً: إنّه يُمثل مساراً مُهِمّاً لتحقيق أهداف المُعاهَدة.
كما أبدى الترحيب بالجُهُود الثنائيّة والمُتعدّدة الأطراف لإيجاد حلّ سلميّ ودبلوماسيّ وطويل الأمد للأزمة النوويّة مع جمهوريّة كوريا الشعبيّة الديمقراطيّة.
لافتاً بالقول: لن ندّخر جُهداً، وسنُواصِل العمل مع المُجتمَع الدوليّ من أجل دُخُول مُعاهَدة الحظر الشامل للتجارب النوويّة حيّز النفاذ؛ لإيجاد عالم خالٍ من التجارب النوويّة لمصلحة الأجيال الحاليّة والقادمة.
