Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad in Damascus and discussed the enhancement of joint cooperation and the opening of the border crossings between the two countries, in addition to reviewing the developments taking place in the region and internationally.
The minister said during the meeting “The world until recently was afraid of Daesh terrorist gangs and that the Iraqis and the Syrians faced it and achieved successive victories. Today, everyone is looking with respect and appreciation to what has been achieved. We must continue security cooperation and prevent the return of terrorism.” To preserve the achievements made in the war against terrorism, and to activate the political and economic issues along with security.
