Iraqi Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met with Mr. Karim Khan, Special Adviser and head of the Investigative of Accountability of Daesh crimes. The two sides discussed the mechanisms of the investigation team and the ways to achieve its mission in Iraq.

Minister Al- Jaafari stressed Iraq’s readiness to provide full support for the success of the team’s mission, stressing the importance of cooperation with the Iraqi government.

Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mr. Peter Maurer on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, and reviewed the overall situation in Iraq and the efforts of the Red Cross in Iraq.

Dr. Al-Jaafari praised the work of the organization and its role in Iraq. “We thank you for the humanitarian assistance you have provided to the Iraqi people in their war against Daesh terrorist gangs.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met with the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office, Mr. Vladimir Vornikov and Mrs. Michèle Coninsx Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate on the margins of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and discussed the overall political and security situation in Iraq, and the international support provided for Iraq in the fight against terrorism.

Minister Al-Jaafari stated that Iraq is a country that has faced a global war against Daesh terrorist gangs and has won and that security and intelligence cooperation among the countries of the world should continue.
