During his official visit to the United States, Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with the family of Kayla Mueller, who was kidnapped by ISIS terrorists in Aleppo, Syria in 2013 while working in humanitarian relief and killed in 2015.
The family handed Prime Minister Al-Sudani a letter requesting the Iraqi government`s assistance in conducting an investigation that could lead to the recovery of their daughter’s remains, citing Iraq`s extensive experience in counterterrorism and knowledge of terrorist groups within ISIS.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed his deep sympathy for the family and confirmed that specialized security agencies would initiate an investigation to find any information that could lead to Mueller’s remains. He emphasized that terrorism in Iraq has targeted all Iraqis regardless of religion, race, or ethnicity, and the sacrifices made by the people have ultimately led to the defeat of terrorism in the country.

استقبل رئيس مجلس الوزراء السيد محمد شياع السوداني، على هامش زيارته الرسمية إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، عائلة المواطنة الأمريكية كايلا مولر، التي اختطفتها عصابات داعش الإرهابية في مدينة حلب السورية عام 2013 أثناء عملها في مجال تقديم الإغاثة الإنسانية، وتم قتلها في عام 2015.
وسلمت عائلة الضحية لسيادته رسالة تتضمن مناشدة للحكومة العراقية في مساعدتهم بإجراء تحقيق يمكن من خلاله التوصل إلى رفات ابنتهم واستعادته إلى موطنها في الولايات المتحدة، لما يمتلكه العراق اليوم من خبرة كبيرة في مجال مكافحة الإرهاب، ودراية بالجماعات والفلول الإرهابية المنضوية ضمن عصابات داعش.

وعبر السيد رئيس مجلس الوزراء عن تعاطفه الشديد مع عائلة الضحية، وأكد أن الأجهزة الأمنية المختصة ستباشر بالتحقيق للوصول إلى أية معلومة تمكّن من الاستدلال على رفات الضحية.

وبين سيادته أن الإرهاب قد استهدف جميع العراقيين دون أن يستثني ديناً أو عرقاً أو إثنية، وأن دماء الضحايا هي من تنتصر في النهاية، حيث اندحر الإرهاب في العراق بالتضحيات والدماء التي قدمها أبناؤه.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed Mr. Ken West, President of Honeywell, and his delegation at his residence in Washington, D.C., early Thursday morning (Baghdad time). The meeting discussed cooperation opportunities with Honeywell in the field of gas production development. Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed Iraq`s commitment to integrating modern technology into the oil industry and expanding Iraq’s capacities in producing and exporting oil products.

The Prime Minister invited the company to participate in completing the Basra Refinery, highlighting the government`s readiness to provide all necessary facilitations for foreign companies operating in Iraq, supporting them, and preparing the necessary investment environment.

استقبل رئيس مجلس الوزراء السيد محمد شياع السوداني، في مقرّ إقامته بالعاصمة الأمريكية واشنطن، فجر اليوم الخميس (بتوقيت بغداد)، رئيس شركة هانويل الأمريكية السيد كين ويست والوفد المرافق له.
وجرت، خلال اللقاء، مناقشة سبل التعاون مع الشركة لتنفيذ المشاريع في مجال تطوير إنتاج الغاز، إذ أكد السيد رئيس مجلس الوزراء مضيّ العراق في إدخال التكنولوجيا الحديثة على الصناعة النفطية، وتوسعة قدرات العراق في إنتاج وتصدير المنتجات النفطية.

وأكد السيد رئيس مجلس الوزراء أهمية التزام الشركة بفتح مراكز لصيانة الطائرات الحربية وتوفير المواد الاحتياطية لها داخل العراق؛ نظراً لأهمية هذا الأمر الخاص بتأهيل الطائرات العراقية لحفظ أمن البلد.

من جانبه، أبدى وفد الشركة تفهمه واستعداده للاستجابة لطلبات الحكومة العراقية الخاصة بتنفيذ بنود عقود توريد الطائرات للعراق، وتوفير جميع المستلزمات المتعلقة بها

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed a delegation from the American company Baker Hughes at his residence in Washington, D.C., early Thursday morning (Baghdad time).
During the meeting, they discussed the company`s operations in Iraq in the oil and gas sectors. The Prime Minister stressed that gas projects are a priority for the government to meet the needs of power stations and to stop the environmental damage caused by gas flaring. He encouraged the company to contribute to establishing a chemical plant for materials used in drilling and oil extraction processes.

استقبل رئيس مجلس الوزراء السيد محمد شياع السوداني، في مقرّ إقامته بالعاصمة الأمريكية واشنطن، فجر اليوم الخميس (بتوقيت بغداد)، وفد شركة بيكر هيوز الأمريكية. وجرى، خلال اللقاء، مناقشة تطوير عمل الشركة في العراق في مجال النفط والغاز، حيث أكد سيادته أن مشاريع الغاز في العراق تشكل أولوية لدى الحكومة؛ وذلك لتغطية حاجة المحطات الكهربائية المشيدة، فضلاً عن إيقاف الهدر بحرق الغاز الذي يضر بالبيئة، كما حثّ سيادته الشركة على الإسهام في إقامة مصنع للمواد الكيمياوية الداخلة في عمليات الحفر واستخراج النفط.
وأكد وفد شركة بيكر هيوز استعداد الشركة للمزيد من التعاون مع الحكومة والقطاع الخاص العراقي، واستعدادهم في تطبيق الحلول الذكية في مجال تطوير الحقول النفطية والغاز.

يشار إلى أنّ القطاع الخاص العراقي قد وقع في واشنطن مذكرة تفاهم مع شركة بيكر هيوز في مجال استخدام الحلول الذكية لإيقاف حرق الغاز وتطوير الحقول النفطية وصيانتها.

Government Memorandums of Understanding: 1. Ministry of Electricity and General Electric (GE): Memorandum of understanding to develop the energy sector. 2. Ministry of Oil and Honeywell: Partnership agreement to develop strategic plans for oil fields and associated gas. 3. Ministry of Oil and General Electric: Agreement to enhance oil field and associated gas development. 4. Iraq Development Fund and MACK: Memorandum for the manufacture of specialized vehicles.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with CEOs and representatives of major American companies in Washington D.C. on Wednesday. The meeting, hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, included a dialogue session and the Prime Minister addressed various inquiries related to Iraq’s investment environment and the facilitations provided by the government to the private sector.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Al-Sudani oversaw the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding between the Iraqi Ministries of Electricity and Oil, the Iraq Development Fund, and various American corporations. MOUs were also signed by the Iraqi private sector companies and American companies in the fields of energy and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
